Dr. Bormann is a native of Algona, Iowa. He attended Truman State University in Kirksville where he met his wife Nicole, also an Iowa native. This was followed by his medical degree from the University of Iowa in Iowa City.
Dr. Bormann then went onto Omaha, Nebraska for his orthopaedic training at the University of Nebraska Medical Center/Creighton combined program. There he developed an interest in trauma and shoulder surgery. In 2010, Dr. Bormann traveled to Hannover, Germany and Aachen, Germany to advance his knowledge in fracture care. In 2011, he continued his overseas training by completing a fellowship in shoulder and elbow surgery in Auckland, New Zealand.
