Dr. Buzzell is a Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon, and is a fellowship-trained shoulder specialist. After earning his medical degree at Creighton University, he completed his surgical internship and orthopaedic surgery residency at Vanderbilt University. During residency, he developed an interest in the shoulder due to its complexity and wide range of disorders that impact the quality of life for patients of all ages.

He completed a Shoulder Fellowship at the WB Carrell Clinic in Dallas, TX, where he trained under Dr. W.Z. Burkhead, President of the American Shoulder and Elbow Society, and Dr. S.G. Krishnan, one of the premier arthroscopic and reconstructive shoulder surgeons in the United States.
