Known to his patients as “Dr. K,” Dr. Khatcheressian is an accomplished, board-certified oncologist with a reputation for making patients feel comfortable, informed and optimistic. His beliefs that “[p]atients should be partners in their care” and that the informed choices are “an integral part of the treatment process” are the hallmarks of his treatment philosophy. Graduating magna cum laude from the George Washington University in Washington, DC—Dr. Khatcheressian’s hometown—in 1993, he moved a few hours south to receive his MD from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine in 1998. He remained at VCU Medical Center to complete both a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in medical oncology.
