Dr. Balas grew up on a 3rd generation dairy farm outside Titusville,PA. She received her Bachelor’s in Biology from Allegheny College in Meadville and her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.

In her spare time, she enjoys playing frisbee with her Australian Shepards (Raelyn and Riley), spending time with her husband and their daughter, helping out on the dairy farm, tap dancing, and kayaking.
