Dr. Elder has been in practice at Asheville Orthopaedic Associates since 2002. Originally from New Jersey, he is a graduate of Yale University and Cornell Medical School, and performed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is married to Teresa Elder and has two sons, Charlie and Christopher.

Dr. Elder is a general orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in arthroscopic surgery and sports medicine, with a focus on shoulder, knee, and hip surgeries. He is one of the few surgeons in North Carolina performing hip arthroscopies on a regular basis.
