He completed a preliminary medicine internship at Oakwood Hospital and Medical Center in Dearborn, Michigan and his physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at the University of Michigan Hospitals in Ann Arbor. He performed an interventional spine medicine fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Center for Spine Health in Ohio.

Dr. Yoon is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, American Academy of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine, and North American Spine Society. His orthopedic and nerve-related research is published in numerous peer-reviewed medical journals.

No words can adequately express my respect and appreciation for Dr. Timothy Yoon. Complications from an old accident, left me with severe neck pain and excruciating migraine headaches. For two years to attempted every possible treatment in order to ward off surgery. When nothing else worked, I went to Emory, and met with Dr. Yoon. I immediately recognized his professionalism, compassion, and expertise. My surgery was five weeks ago. The success of surgery has given me back my life.
