Dr. Gregory was born in Indiana and moved to Michigan when she was three years old.She graduated from Traverse City West High School prior to pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology at Michigan State University. At the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Gregory completed her veterinary training and a doctoral degree in Genetics and Gene Regulation, before joining small animal veterinary specialty practice in Colorado as an associate veterinarian.
