Dr. Candace’s first thought of becoming a veterinarian was during her senior year of high school when she started a job as a receptionist at a veterinary clinic. While growing up, she had aspirations of becoming a teacher; however once she discovered the world of veterinary medicine there was no turning back. The job came at a difficult time in her life and brought her much joy and satisfaction. It wasn’t long before she joined the technicians in the back of the hospital and a few years later she obtained her license as a registered veterinary technician.Nine years later, her dreams came true as she received her acceptance letter to veterinary school. Prior to entering veterinary school, Candace graduated from Kennesaw State University in 2011 with a Bachelors of Science in Biology. In November of 2011, she and her husband, Jay, had their son, Conner. He is now 4 ½ and is their little superhero.
