Originally from Great Neck, New York, Dr. Walzer went to college at the State University of New York at Albany where he received a B.A. in biology. Upon graduation he continued his studies at Washington University School of Dental Medicine in St. Louis where he received his D.M.D. degree. After dental school he ventured back to Albany to do a one year General Practice Dental Residency at the Albany Medical Center Hospital and then practiced general dentistry in new York for the next two years. His interest centered around surgery and in 1980 he was accepted for a three year residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. Upon completing his surgical training he moved to Annapolis and started his private practice.
