Dr. DeMay earned her medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford in Rockford, Illinois. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX. Dr. DeMay remained in Galveston to complete her maternal-fetal medicine fellowship. She is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology as well as maternal-fetal medicine. Dr. DeMay speaks basic Spanish.Dr. DeMay has conducted research on many complications of pregnancy including preterm labor, stem cell activity in human umbilical cord blood and mobilized peripheral blood. Dr. DeMay is a fellow of both the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine. She is also a member of the Cook’s Club Medical Society. Dr. DeMay joined Virginia Women’s Center from East Tennessee State University where she held the positions of assistant professor in the department of OB-GYN and chief of the maternal-fetal medicine division.
