Dr. Kimberley (“Kim”) Suh was deeply impressed one day by a movie scene where a lady doctor, perhaps in her early sixties, was flying a small private plane to get to a remote, distant place for an emergency treatment of severely injured animals, with her red muffler fluttering in the wind. Subsequently, she acquired both a private plane pilot license and a DVM. Primarily, though, what led Kim to pursue a veterinary career was her love for animals, as would be the case for all other vets.The following verses of Emily Dickinson also have moved and influenced her greatly since her childhood: “If I can ease one life the aching,/ Or cool one pain,/ Or help one fainting robin/ Into his nest again,/ I shall not live in vain.” She is determined to treat every patient like her own pet and feels fulfilling to help keep four-legged family members healthy and happy.
