Dr. Thakuri joined Cancer Care of WNC in 2007. He is a native of Nepal and graduated from Tribhuvan University, Institute of Medicine in Kathmandu, Nepal. His internship and residency were completed at the Upstate Medical University, previously known as: State University of New York, Health Science Center. He completed a three year Fellowship in Hematology and Medical Oncology from Upstate Medical University, Syracuse, New York.  Prior to joining Cancer Care of WNC, Dr. Thakuri was a faculty member at Wake Forest University School of Medicine.  He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology and Hematology.
