Dr. Watnik is a graduate from Johns Hopkins University and received his MD degree from New York Medical College. He is a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon with fellowship training in Arthroscopic Surgery and Sports Medicine from The Hospital of Joint Diseases Orthopedic Institute in New York City. Dr. Watnik has also achieved subspecialty Board Certification in the field of Sports Medicine. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and American College of Surgeons. He is a member of the prestigious Arthroscopy Association of North America and Orthopedic Trauma Association. He has published and lectured extensively in the fields of Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Trauma. He is an Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and the North Shore – LIJ Hofstra School of Medicine. He has won numerous awards including 6 Teacher of the Year Awards from the Orthopedic Residency program at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. He has extensive experience in treating professional athletes, having been a team physician for the Long Island Ducks Baseball Team and the Long Island Roughriders Soccer Team. He has been selected in the top 5% of Physicians in America by Best Doctors, Inc. His expertise lies in the minimally invasive treatment of the athlete utilizing the most advanced arthroscopic surgical techniques.
