Dr. Ruff was destined to become a surgeon. When Paul was a child, he adored his grandfather who was a highly respected OBGYN. As a child, Paul didn’t know exactly what that meant, but he knew that his grandfather helped people. He felt his grandfather’s joy and enthusiasm for his work in his own heart. His grandfather loved his work and it showed. Through his grandfather’s passion for his work as a doctor, a dream was born in a young child’s mind.

Paul’s life, dreams, and educational goals were all planned in his mind with the sole purpose of becoming a doctor.As his father was a Navy man, stationed in Virginia, Paul grew up in and around the Washington DC area. “The DC area has always been my home. I always knew that this was where I wanted to practice.”
