Dr. Smith came to Starkville in 2002 after completing training at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. In 2003, he and Mary Smith, CNP, started Starkville Orthopedic Clinic. Dr. Smith received his undergraduate degree from the University of Mississippi and his medical school degree from the University of Mississippi Medical Center.

In addition to being board certified in general orthopedics, he obtained board certification in sports medicine in 2009. Dr. Smith has a practice focused in arthroscopy and sports medicine but treats general orthopedic conditions as well.
