Dr. Mark Garneau received his Bachelor of Science in Biology at Virginia Tech and his DVM degree from Tufts University in 2009. He went on to a medical/surgical internship at Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston, followed by a specialty surgical internship at Long Island Veterinary Specialists in Plainview, NY. He then returned to Massachusetts and completed a residency in small animal surgery at Tufts University. He was awarded the Veterinary Scholarship Trust of New England award for academic excellence and performance as a resident.

During residency Dr. Garneau trained extensively in soft tissue, orthopedic, and minimally invasive surgery. He completed additional training courses in minimally invasive surgery (Covidien Veterinary Honors Program) and in fracture repair (AO Vet). He holds particular interest in minimally invasive procedures, thoracic surgery, and oncologic surgery.
